Job description:

Work here most typically involves records review, other research, and report writing. Other responsibilities for this position include data compilation and management of samples and specimens. Similar efforts are called for in support of other reports, e.g., seismic assessments, percolation tests and septic system layouts, and property-condition assessments. This is a small company; as such, some general office work and marketing efforts may also be assigned.

This is an entry-level position; nevertheless, it requires communication skills, technical writing ability, computer familiarity, and physical strength (for traversing sites, handling sampling equipment, etc.) The applicant should also have authentic interest in or capacity for such subjects as chemistry, epidemiology, geology, engineering, and architecture. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is usually required. Our office has a casual atmosphere and lies between Escondido and Oceanside, ca. 35-miles north of San Diego. Ability to write reports is paramount, and candidates are asked to submit writing samples.

Salary: $12 an hour
